To create a movement of leaders, Teach for Afghanistan has developed a two-part theory of change.
Through our Fellowship program, we provide an opportunity to Afghanistan’s most promising university graduates to serve as full-time teachers to children from low-income communities in most under-resourced schools. During this experience of teaching in classrooms and working with stakeholders like students, principals, and parents, our Fellows get exposed to the grassroots realities of education system and develop the knowledge, skills, and mindsets necessary to attain positions of leadership in the education system.
Fellows are the leaders in their classroom by mentoring the kids in attaining life-long skills and improving their learning levels, critical thinking and love for education.
Fellows invest and work directly with other stakeholders to maximize their impact, share their skills and work together to create constructive learning environment.
Fellows invest parents and the communities into their vision of excellent education and believe in collective effort to build a movement of leaders who solve problem in their own capacities.
We engage these leaders, our Alumni, and support this movement of leaders. Our Alumni work in diverse roles within the education sector, as teachers, teacher-trainers, school principals, curriculum designers, entrepreneurs all with a shared purpose to build a movement for educational equity that will maximize the progress towards that day when all children have the opportunity to attain an excellent education.
Through our Fellowship program, we provide three pieces of training to the fellows to get exposed to the grassroots realities of the education system and develop the knowledge, skills, and mindsets necessary to attain positions of leadership in the education system.
In Psychology training, we train the fellows in the study of the human mind and behaviour in relation to teaching-learning.
